Dichroic glass jewelry at Stardust Studio is designed by Cheree Frizzell and is unique in appearance with the many colors each piece reflects. Dichro comes from the greek word meaning two colors. This glass is named Dichroic because of the changing of its appearance according to the direction of the light reflected off the glass and the angle from which it is viewed. NASA has been credited with the inventing of dichroic glass, created by a technical process where by extremely thin multiple layers of gold, silver, metal oxides and silica are vaporized at very high temps resulting in the formation of crystals on the surface of the glass, The result is a brilliant array of color, unique in apperance.
